This is the agreement between you and TripPacker. It's written to be read, not to be impressive. Using the app means you accept it.
You need to be at least 13, and old enough where you live to enter into a contract. If you're under 18, please go through this with a parent or guardian.
Sign-in is required, using Apple, Google, or a code sent to your email. Keep your email account secure — anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you. Please give us an address you actually use, one account per person, and don't sign in as somebody else.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Most of TripPacker is free, permanently, with no trip limit: you can plan trips, generate full packing lists, tick things off, earn stickers and climb the tiers without paying anything. TripPacker Pro is an optional subscription that adds features on top — packing lighter, remembering what you forgot, starting from a past trip, night-before reminders, multi-city trips, Pro stickers, whole-tier rewards and a Shop discount.
Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. That means Apple, not us, takes your payment and handles refunds.
Some items are earned by using the app, and some are bought. Either way, what you get is a personal, non-transferable licence to use that item inside TripPacker. Items are not property, have no cash value, can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and can't be moved to another account.
The catalogue changes over time — items rotate, and some are available only for a period. We'll be straight about what's available and for how long. If we ever have to withdraw something you paid for and cannot replace it fairly, tell us and we'll sort it out.
You can share an invite code so a friend can connect with you. When you do, they'll see your display name, your tier and how many trips you've taken. Only share codes with people you actually want to connect with, and please use a display name you're comfortable strangers seeing. Don't use the app to harass anyone or to impersonate someone else.
Don't do these things: break the law with the app; try to break, probe or overload our systems; get at other people's accounts or data; automate, scrape or resell the service; reverse-engineer it beyond what the law expressly permits; or upload content that's illegal or infringes someone's rights.
Your trips, lists, items and passport are yours. They live on your device, not on our servers, so we can't read them and don't claim any rights over them. Your display name and invite code sit on our server so friends can find you — that's the extent of it.
The app itself — its name, artwork, stickers, illustrations, copy and code — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may use it as an app. You may not copy the artwork or reuse it elsewhere.
TripPacker generates suggestions from what you tell it and from typical conditions for a place and time of year. It is a helpful starting point and nothing more.
You remain responsible for what you actually need to travel. In particular, TripPacker does not check and cannot tell you about:
Check the official sources for your destination and your airline. Don't rely on a packing app for any of the above.
The app is provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available, always be error-free, or suit every purpose. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost trips, missed flights or anything you forgot to pack. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ten US dollars, whichever is greater.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, you keep every right your local law gives you, and nothing in these terms overrides them.
You can stop using TripPacker and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we're required to. If we ever discontinue the app, we'll give reasonable notice so you can get your things out.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use TripPacker after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, and the courts of California will have jurisdiction — except that if you're a consumer elsewhere, you can also bring a claim in your own country's courts, and your own country's consumer protection laws still apply to you.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once doesn't mean we've given it up. These terms, plus the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us. You can't transfer your rights under them; we may transfer ours if the app changes hands, and we'd tell you.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for TripPacker. Apple's own standard licence terms also apply to your use of the app, and where they conflict with these terms on a point Apple requires, Apple's terms win.
